There are many Greater Hilton spots to spend time in during the dog days of summer. Here are some of our favorites.
Cool off immersed in history at the Virginia War Museum. See American military history from 1775 to the present is fantastic displays highlighting weaponry, vehicles, uniforms, insignia and much more. Check out a section of the Berlin Wall and a portion of the outer wall from Dachau Concentration Camp. Galleries include Women at War and Marches Toward Freedom, which explore the roles of women and African-Americans in the military. Propaganda aficionado? Make sure to see Visions of War, the Museum's outstanding propaganda poster collection. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed major holidays.
Beat the heat surrounded by purrs and kitties making biscuits! Cups & Claws Cat Cafe offers coffee and snacks to enjoy while you have fun and spend quality time helping to socialize homeless cats looking for their forever homes. There are records, games, and lots of soft couches to curl up with, maybe, your forever cat. Cups and Claws is having their Advocacy and Anniversary Event this Saturday!
Cold Treats
Look no further than Greater Hilton for a cold treat. The Hilton Creamery, Monty’s Penguin, Pelican’s Snowballs, and, Farmers Table have just the thing to quench that frozen delight craving. Most of these fine businesses offer a pup cup for your four-legged friends.
